How can I stop all the examples from showing up everywhere? An example is when in group maintenance I see all the examples and I'm really only interested in my apps. I did see they are at the bottom, but can I just keep them from displaying?
Currently you can't. In earlier versions of Valence you had the ability to filter the contents of the app list based on items that belong or don't belong to the group. We're planning to bring that back in the next release.
