Grid vs Edit Grid for iPads

I started a new, relatively simple app to allow users to edit a few fields in a file. This will be used on both iPads and desktop PCs. They will ONLY be able to edit fields already in the file. We will never allow them to remove or add.

I started with an Edit Grid widget, but I'm kind of regretting it - With an iPad I would like the users to simply select a row for edit. With the edit grid, the user needs to "double-click" on the row.

Is there a way to enable the row edit using a "single-click" or "tap"?

Currently, edit grids only initiate an edit on double click/double tap because a single click/single tap could trigger a behavior row click. I have added this to our feature request list to see if something can be done.
