Calendar widget - Grabbing selected date

In the calendar widget behaviors for "Day/Time Click", is there a way to grab the date that they clicked so it can be inputted in a form for an entry?

If they select a date with no entries (inside the Month view), I want it to open a form and set the value of that selected date into the Start Date (Z) so they only have to select a time.
