Valence Email Returns Rejected

Valence will send my email outside of our domain. However, it returns as rejected.

MAIL REJECTED BY live WITH THE MESSAGE:
554 Relay rejected for policy reasons.

Is this because I need a digital certificate?

Most likely not a certificate issue at play, but rather your SMTP configuration on IBM i is pointing to a mail server that is rejecting the relay.

Your best option would probably be to adjust the configuration on your mail server to accept relays from your IBM i domain, assuming a mail server is necessary. Or you could try letting your IBM i send the messages out directly (i.e., remove the mail router in CHGSMTPA and restart your SMTP server), though of course then your company's network or firewall may become the issue.
