error messages shown in firebug

When I am testing with the examples, either within the portal or not, I always get two error messages before the successful response (see attached), could some one tell me if this is normal, or what I've missed?

That is not normal. The proxy identification required message is probably arising because your browser is set to go through a proxy server and that proxy server isn't allowing the call to take place.

Yes, Richard, you are right, my browser goes through a proxy server.

Though I am not quite understanding why it got through on each 3rd attempt.

I won't spend time resolving this at the moment, as I am only experimenting and can actually run the apps, just that it may take longer due to the first 2 failing.
