  • Pivot Row Click not working with Filter

I have an app with a section for a pivot grid and a section for a details grid. Under a Row Click event for the pivot grid, I set app variables, filter and hide/show the detail grid. But, when I click the row nothing happens. If I edit the behavior and remove the filter, the details grid is shown, but with all the unfiltered records. Is there a way around this?

Have you looked at the NAB Developer Console network traffic to see what is being called?

      Hi Sean,
Yes, I've checked the network call and see the getData along with array of data that makes up the pivot table. The pivot data source is based on the GLMSTRP joined to VARCODP which has descriptions for some of the code fields in GLMSTRP. When I click on the pivot table I have Row click behaviors that set a filter on my GLDTLP (detail transactions) that feed another widgit which shows all the detail behind the pivot totals. If I include a filter in the Row Click behaviors, I don't see the nabInfo pop up, {GLPER} stays as null. If I remove the filter from the Row Click behavior, the app shows me the nabInfo with the current time and proceeds to detail section, but doesn't filter any of the data. I am still running on version 6.3.20260605.0, Here is a screen shot of my app behaviors.
      Thanks,
      Bruce

To get around this issue, please set the needed app variables so they can be used to filter your widget. Then fire a local event that actually does the filtering and the hide/shows. That should get you around the current issue.

FYI, we have replicated the issue on our development system so will be able to apply a fix for this...hopefully in the next 6.4 update.

            Hi Johnny,
I tried your suggestion about moving everything into a local event but it didn't fix my issue. I've narrowed it down to the script doesn't run the first time I call it under the row click action. I setup a console.log with a message and the first call never registers anything in the F12 - console. When I go back to the pivot, expand a row, then click on a cell the second time, the row click works as I'd expect and I have a line in the console window. Please let me know when the fix comes out for this issue.
            Thanks,
            Bruce

Can you please share a screenshot of the behavior/actions on row click of the pivot grid where it’s firing the local event? Thanks

                Hi Johnny,
Here is the latest version, I am only firing the showDetails event with the row click for the pivot grid.

Here is where I moved the code that was originally under the row click event.

When I expand a row on the pivot grid and click on one of the cells, the app will show the detail section, but it doesn't run anything inside the script. If I go back to the pivot screen, expand a row and click on a cell a second time, the script runs, set the variables and applies the filter like I expected it to. The script has console.log entries to help me trace the flow. First time I click, no console messages, second time I click, messages show as expected. Thanks for the reply.
                ??

Can you change it so the row click does the script and sets the app variables and then fires the local event. The listener just does the filter and the hide/show widgets. Thanks

                    Hi Johnny,
I made the changes you suggested and I'm getting the same result. Expand the pivot, pick a cell on a row, click and I get the un-filtered results. If I go back to the pivot grid, expand the row, click the same cell, I get the correct "filtered" results. The second, third, etc clicks all work correctly.
                    Thanks,
                    Bruce

This was resolved in an online meeting - problem had to do with the script being used.
