  • Valence 1_1_20080727_0

This is a maintenance release of 1.1 to correct a few bugs identified since version 1_1_20080711. It can be installed to new systems where Valence has not yet been installed, or it can be used to install over a previous build of Valence 1.1. To download Valence visit http://www.cnxcorp.com/valence/try/

    Version:
    1_1_20080727_0
    Release Date: 2008-07-27

    Bugs Corrected:
    • Integer (B) and Float (F) data types - A bug in the toJSON procedure would sometimes cause integer and float data types to return a null value. This has been corrected.
    • No default CCSID - Valence would not function on systems where the default CCSID was 65535 and the language was not English. Valence now sets the default CCSID on the server instance to 37. Customers can change to the CCSID of their choice but now Valence will function correctly when first installed.

    Upgrade Instructions:

If you are installing over an earlier build of Valence 1.1, this installation will completely overwrite that version, including all data in the Valence database files in library VALENCE11, and any modifications you may have made in ifs folder /valence-1.1. This means any users, option, groups, authorizations, etc. that have been configured in Valence will be lost. You may want to save the VALENCE11 library if you have significant data you want to retain so it can be copied back later.

You also must be sure there are no locks on the VALENCE11 library and that the VALENCE11 server instance is ended. Use the "ENDTCPSVR SERVER(*HTTP) HTTPSVR(VALENCE11)" command to end the server instance. Use the "WRKOBJLCK OBJ(VALENCE11) OBJTYPE(*LIB)" command to see if there are any locks on the VALENCE11 library.

NOTE: This version of Valence runs by default on port 7011. If you need assistance with installation please email support@cnxcorp.com.
